For single family homes you have dozens of communities. Depending on your desired location you can find homes near downtown, close to FSU, or out of town. Close to the FSU campus there are many apartments, rental houses, and fraternity houses. As you move more than few miles away from campus there are residential neighborhoods.
If you are willing to drive 20 minutes there are many affordable neighborhoods where you can you can find a house with a few acres. Just a few miles out of the center of Tallahassee the area becomes very sparsely populated and rural with beautiful rolling hills.
